Tsuneo Suzukawa, a university student passionate about diving and marine biology, strives to earn money for studying abroad. However, a chance encounter with Kumiko, a girl in a wheelchair who prefers the name "Josee," alters his path. Despite her initial rudeness, Tsuneo takes on a paid job as Josee's caretaker, hoping to save more funds for his dreams. Over time, he discovers Josee's desire to explore the outside world, free from her condition.

Realizing the significance of their traits, Tsuneo decides to accompany Josee on her journey of discovery. As they spend time together, they both understand how their unique qualities can play a vital role in achieving their respective aspirations.
