ReLIFE follows the story of Arata Kaizaki, a 27-year-old unemployed man who struggles to find a stable job after quitting his first company. One day, he meets Ryo Yoake, a mysterious man who offers him a chance to participate in a unique experiment called the "ReLIFE" program. The ReLIFE program involves taking a pill that transforms him into a 17-year-old and allows him to redo his high school life for one year.

Arata decides to take up the offer and finds himself back in high school. As a "17-year-old" student, he must navigate the challenges of adolescence, form friendships, and try to make the most of this second chance at youth. Throughout the series, he interacts with various classmates and teachers, including Chizuru Hishiro, a reserved and socially awkward girl who becomes an essential part of his life.
