"Bubble" is an anime series set in a post-apocalyptic world where five years prior, mysterious gravity-defying bubbles with unknown powers fell from the sky, causing a massive explosion over Tokyo. As a result, the city became enclosed within a gigantic bubble, turning it into a gravity-altering sea and forcing the government to declare it a prohibited zone. The residents abandoned the city, leaving behind children orphaned by the catastrophe.

Now, these orphaned children live illegally in Tokyo and engage in dangerous parkour team battles across the city's dilapidated buildings. The protagonist, Hibiki, is a skilled participant in these games with the unique ability to jump between bubbles. He becomes intrigued by sounds coming from the Tokyo Tower and decides to investigate the tower's mysteries.

During his exploration, Hibiki falls into the waters below the city and is rescued by a mysterious girl whom he names Uta. Unbeknownst to Hibiki, Uta's appearance in his life will lead to the unraveling of the secrets behind the catastrophic "Bubble Fall" event and its impact on their world.
